2004-2005 Season Review

Overall: 4-20 TranSouth: 1-9 (6th of 6)
TranSouth Tournament: beat Martin Methodist, lost Lyon College
All-TranSouth: First Team: Jodi Reimer

When the Trevecca volleyball team entered the 2004-2005 season, Head Coach Scott Jones knew that the term "rebuilding" was an understatement. After a 34-8 (11-8) season last year, the team lost nine players. Seven newcomers filled the spots on the roster with only three players (one senior) returning to the team.

Through the team's first nine regular season games, the Trojans were still looking for their first win. That victory came in TranSouth Conference regular season play. On the road at conference opponent Cumberland University, Trevecca swept the Lady Bulldogs in three straight games. The Trojans would go on to pick up wins against Bethel College (twice), and Lambuth University.

In postseason play, the Trojans fell to Martin Methodist and Lyon College in the double elimination TranSouth Conference Tournament. The losses ended the team's season with a 4-22 overall record and 1-9 mark in conference play.

Jodi Reimer, Trevecca's lone senior on the team was named to the All-TranSouth First Team. Junior Valerie Hicks and sophomore Monica Johnsen joined Reimer as TranSouth Conference Scholar Athletes.

Now with a full year under the belts of this new Trevecca volleyball squad, the nine potential returners, including seven freshmen, now have the necessary collegiate experience and leadership to turn the volleyball program back to their winning tradition.
