Sweep Crichton, TSAC Tourney Wednesday
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - NAIA No. 4 Trevecca (43-5, 32-2) ended the regular season with a conference double-header sweep of Crichton College (11-35, 9-23) on Saturday by the scores of 7-1 and 8-0. Chelsea Bailey was a combined 5-8 with five stolen bases, a RBI, and three runs scored. Sara Nicholson was a combined 3-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, two RBI, and a home run.
In game one Brittiany Johnson (29-1) picked up the win with three innings pitched. Johnson didn’t allow a run or hit and had seven strikeouts and a walk. Shelby Mashburn picked up the save after allowing one run, five hits, one walk in four innings of work. Mashburn also had two strike outs. Sara Nicholson was 1-2 with two runs, two RBI, a home run, a walk, and a stolen base. Kacey Coonce was 3-4 with a run, RBI, and a double. Ashley Camp was 2-4 with a run and a RBI. Chelsey Bailey was 1-4 with a run, RBI, and three stolen bases.
In game two Stephanie Fisher (12-3) picked up the win with a complete game shutout. Fisher went six innings and allowed four hits while striking out six. Chelsea Bailey, Sara Nicholson, and Ashley continued their hot bats in game two. Bailey was 4-4 with two runs and two stolen bases. Camp was 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Nicholson was 2-3 with two runs and two stolen bases.
