Trevecca’s Brittiany Johnson (35-3) took the loss. Johnson pitched the first six innings before giving way to Stephanie Fisher in the seventh. Johnson allowed four hits, two runs, and sixth walks while striking out six. In her inning of work Fisher was perfect with two strike outs. RedHawks pitcher Sally Gale allowed just three hits and had one strike out. She didn’t allow a walk.
The RedHawks scored a run in the first and sixth innings. MMC had four hits and no errors. TNU had three hits and two errors. Megan Suggs had Trevecca’s only extra base hit with a double.
The RedHawks victory forced a second championship game and the third meeting of the day and the seventh meeting this season between the two teams.
