SOFTBALL: Beat Union 3-0, Advance Championship Friday

Trevecca will face No. 3 seed Freed-Hardeman (33-13) on Friday at 1 p.m.

Brittiany Johnson (31-2) helped the Trojans with her bat and arm. Johnson pitched a complete game two-hitter to keep the Trojans in the winners bracket. The senior All-American allowed just three walks and had eight strike outs. At the plate Johnson was 3-3 with a run scored, three RBI, and a home run. She drove in all three Trojans runs. Kacey Coonce was 2-3 with a run scored. Sammy Simon was 1-3 with a double.

, Tenn. - NAIA No. 5 Trevecca (45-5) defeated No. 4 seed Union University (31-19) 3-0 on Thursday to advance to the Championship Friday.

TranSouth Tournament Information

Trevecca entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed and have a automatic bid to next week’s NAIA Region XI Tournament at Freed-Hardeman University. The 2008 TranSouth tournament is being played in Jackson, Tenn. at Union University’s Fesmire Field.
