Split Games @ Freed-Hardeman, Sr. Day Thursday
HENDERSON, Tenn. - NAIA No. 4 Trevecca (39-5, 28-2) split a pair of games at Freed-Hardeman (27-13, 19-11) on Tuesday. Trevecca won the first game 6-4, but fell in the second game 1-0.
Brittiany Johnson (26-1) pitched 3.2 innings for the win. Johnson allowed two hits and had nine strikeouts. Stephanie Fisher pitched 3.1 innings and gave up four hits, five walks and four runs. Fisher had five strike outs. Megan Suggs was 2-4 with an RBI and two doubles. Ashley Camp was 1-3 with a double and two RBI. Chelsea Bailey was 1-2 with two walks, two runs, and a RBI.
Brittiany Johnson (26-2) fell for just the second time this season on the mount. Johnson allowed just two hits, a walk and run while striking out eight Lions. TNU’s Johnson only gave up one run in the bottom of the seventh. It was by way of a solo home run from FHU’s own Brittany Johnson. The Trojans managed just four this and an error while the Lions had two hits and no errors.
The Trojans will honor their seniors between games of Thursday’s meeting with No. 17 Martin Methodist. The double-header with the RedHawks (39-8, 28-4) will start at 4 p.m. Trevecca will finish the regular season with a conference double-header at Crichton College at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
