Take Two from Mid-Continent, Sr. Day Thursday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 4 Trevecca (38-4, 27-1) defeated Mid-Continent (13-34, 8-24) 3-0 and 10-0 on Monday.
Trevecca’s Brittiany Johnson (25-1) picked up a pair of wins and Stephanie Fisher (3) picked up a pair of saves in today’s double-header with Mid-Continent.
In game one, Johnson pitched five innings and allowed one hit and one walk and had eight strike outs. Fisher allowed two hits and had two strike outs. Ashley Camp led the offensive effort with a 1-3 performance at the plate. Camp had a home run, run scored, and two RBI. Chelsea Bailey was 1-2 with a run scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases.
In game two, Johnson started and pitched two innings and allowed a hit and had four strike outs. Fisher pitched the final three innings and allowed a hit and had three strike outs. Megan Suggs had three-run home run and was 2-3 with a run scored and three RBI. Chelsea Bailey was 2-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Sammy Simon was 2-2 with a run, a walk, a double, and two RBI. Kacey Coonce was 2-3 with two runs, two RBI, and a double.
Trevecca is on the road Tuesday at Freed-Hardeman (26-12, 18-10) for a 4 p.m. double-header. The Trojans will honor their seniors between games of Thursday’s meeting with No. 17 Martin Methodist. The double-header with the RedHawks (39-8, 28-4) will start at 4 p.m. Trevecca will finish the regular season with a conference double-header at Crichton College at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
