SOFTBALL: Road Sweep @ UnionJACKSON, Tenn. - NAIA No. 4 Trevecca (30-4, 19-1) swept Union University (21-12, 12-8) on Saturday.
Brittiany Johnson improved a 18-1 on the season with a pair of pitching wins over the Union Bulldogs on Saturday.
Johnson went seven innings in the first game and allowed just one run on four hits and two walks. She had three strike outs in the game. Offensively Cassady Critchfield paced the Trojans with a 2-3 performance at the plate and added a run scored, a double, a home run, a stolen base, and three RBI. Johnson contributed with a 2-4 performance with a runs scored. Sammy Simon was 2-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Trevecca had nine hits and no errors while Union had four hits and a error.
In game two Johnson was in the circle again and pitched six innings of shut out softball. She allowed two hits, seven walks and had seven strike outs. Stephanie Fisher pitched a perfect seventh inning to get her first save of the season. TNU had 12 hits and no errors while UU had two hits and no errors. Brittiany Johnson was 4-4 at the plate and had a RBI. Kacey Coonce was 2-4 with two runs scored and a double. Cassady Critchfield was 1-3 and added a pair of stolen bases.
Trevecca will host Crichton College (10-20, 8-10) for a pair of games at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 14.
