Split with NCAA D2 No. Ala.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NAIA No. 4 Trevecca (17-3, 8-0) split a double-header with NCAA D2 North Alabama (14-13) on Tuesday. Trevecca took game one (3-1) while UNA (3-0) shut down the Trojan bats in game two. The win in game two ended Trevecca’s 40-game home win streak.
In the first game, the Trojans built a 3-0 lead before UNA was able to score its first run of the day in the top of the seventh inning. A run in the bottom of the third and two in the sixth put TNU on to by three before UNA scored in the seventh. Brittiany Johnson (8-1) pitched the complete game allowing just four hits, two walks and a run while striking out nine Lions. Ashley Camp was 2-3 with two runs scored, a RBI and a home run. Brittiany Johnson added a double and was 2-3.
In the second game, UNA had a three-run fifth inning that proved enough for the victory. Megan Suggs was 2-3 for Trevecca with a double. Stephanie Fisher (7-2) took the loss after allowing eight hits, three walks and three runs while striking out three.
In a game not previously on the schedule, Trevecca will host NCAA D2 Kentucky Wesleyan (7-15) at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th.
