2007-2008 Trevecca Men's Soccer Season Review

The Trevecca men's soccer season finished the year with a berth in the TranSouth Tournament. Though the men fell in the first round, they finished number siix of 10 teams in the conference with a 5-9-1 overall record and a 4-5 TranSouth mark. For the second consecutive year, the team earned the TranSouth Champions of Character Team Award.

A highlight of the season was the 1-1 tie at NAIA No. 16 Goshen College to start the season. The team followed that accomplishment with a 2-1 overtime win at Spring Arbor College, Coach Jeff Carr's alma mater. The team finished the regular season with three consecutive wins. The streak started with a 3-0 win over Lyon College. The second win in the streak was a two-overtime win at Cumberland University, Trevecca’s first win over Cumberland since the 2003-2004 team defeated Cumberland 1-0. The team finished the regular season with a 2-0 win over visiting Freed-Hardeman.

The team advanced to the TranSouth Tournament for the fourth time in school history where they fell in a 2-0 loss to Mid-Continent.

James Lambley was selected TranSouth Co-Freshman of the Year after being selected TranSouth Defensive Player of the Week three times and NAIA Region-XI Defensive Player of the Week twice. Mark Foster was named the TranSouth Player of the Week once this season. Lambley and Foster were joined on the TranSouth Second Team by Calvin da Cunha and Alex Lorenz. Foster and Lorenz were named to the TranSouth Scholar-Athlete Team along with Josh Forth, Parker Hughes, Caylan Goodman, Jorge Hellu, and Andrew McGovern.
