Greg Ruff '87 returned to Trevecca in July of 1998 to head of the school's first Office of Athletic Sports Information and Media Relations.
Greg also serves as the Sports Director for Trevecca's radio stations (WNAZ 89.1 FM, WNRZ 91.5 FM, and WENO 760 AM). Greg leads the play-by-play team for Trevecca's men's and women's basketball and baseball broadcasts.
Greg and his staff have earned several NAIA honors for their production of the athletic media guides and for the website content. In the 2003-04 season Trevecca live audio of the basketball broadcasts to the internet.
Greg is a veteran of the media in Middle Tennessee. He started his career in radio at Trevecca's WNAZ in the early and mid-80's. While at Trevecca he began his career with announcer positions with local radio stations WWGM, WNAH, and WQQK. He also worked in the christian music business with the Benson Record Company and Atkins, Muse, and Associates. His career has seen stops with WLAC, WSIX, The Tennessee Radio Network, and the home of the Grand Ole Opry WSM 650. His freelance work has included reporting for ESPN Radio, CBS Radio, ABC Radio, Fox Sports Radio, The NFL on Westwood One, Sporting News Radio, and Mutual Radio Networks. His play-by-play work has included numerous high school football and basketball games including the state title broadcasts. Greg has also provided play-by-play for Vanderbilt University women's basketball and baseball, Belmont University basketball, NAIA Network, Voice of the Nashville Speedway, and the Nashville Stars of the World Basketball League.
His first job out of college was as the General Manager of WCOR in Lebanon, Tenn. He later became the program director for WWTN 99.7 FM in Nashville and was an associate producer for SportsPlus on WB58 in Nashville, a live nightly sports show.
Greg and his wife Amy have three children Bethany, Briley, and Breelyn and reside in Hermitage, Tennessee.
