WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Defeat Martin Methodist in Two OT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 19 Trevecca (15-9, 9-5) and Martin Methodist (14-14, 7-9) went to double-overtime on Thursday before Trevecca pulled ahead for the 101-89 victory.
Trevecca started the game on a 10-0 run and Martin Methodist didn’t score until the 16:12 mark of the first half. The RedHawks cut what was a 10-point Trojan lead most of the first half to just four points (30-26) with 1:19 to go in the first half. TNU led 33-26 at the break.
MMC took their first lead of the game at 47-46 with 9:55 to go. The RedHawks would extend their lead to 10 points (68-58) with 4:27 to go in the game. Trevecca used a 12-0 run to regain the lead (70-68) with 1:27 to go in regulation. The teams would go to overtime tied at 72.
In the first overtime Trevecca led most of the way, but Kaneka Brown hit a half court shot as time expired to tie the game at 86 and send the game into another extra period.
With the game tied at 88 and 4:46 on the clock Trevecca finished the game on a 13-1 run to take the win.
Kristen Archie led Trevecca with 21 points while Mariska Reed (18), Jennifer Bognar (16), K.C. Van Atta (15), MyRanda Wright (15), and Christian Gibson (12) all scored in double-figures for the Trojans.
