WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Defeat No. 14 Lambuth

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 17 Trevecca (8-6, 2-2) defeated No. 14 Lambuth University (9-7, 1-3) by the score of 78-66.
Trevecca jumped out on top of Lambuth and led 16-5 with 14:25 to go in the first half. The Eagles rallied back to pull to within two points at 20-18 with 8:20 to go in the half. The Trojans pulled away again and led 31-20 with 3:41 to in the first half on the strength of a 11-2 run. Trevecca led by 10 points (35-25) at the intermission.
With 10:55 to go in the game Trevecca led 56-42, but Lambuth had another rally in them. The Eagles pulled to within three points (58-55) with 6:55 to go with a 13-2 run. Trevecca would respond and pulled away for the 12 point (78-66) victory.
Trevecca was led by Kristin Archie who scored a career high 29 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Mariska Reed (19) and Jennifer Bognar (10) also scored in double figures. Jennifer Bognar had a team high 19 rebounds. Abby Lawson led Trevecca with five assists.
Trevecca will travel to Lyon College (11-4, 2-2) for 6 p.m. game on Thursday, January 17th.
