WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Defeat Bethel on the Road
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 17 Trevecca (7-6, 1-2) defeated Bethel College (6-8, 1-2) by the score of 80-61.
Trevecca led through most of the first half, but Bethel tied the game at 26 with 5:42 to go in the first half. Trevecca responded with a 10-1 run to take a 36-27 lead with 2:58 to go in the half. Trevecca extended its lead to 13 points (43-30) at the break. In the second half the Trojans continued to add to their lead and eventually secured the 80-61 victory.
Mariska Reed led Trevecca with 19 points and MyRanda Wright led the team with seven rebounds. Kristin Archie (16), Abby Lawson (15), and Jennifer Bognar (10) all scored in double figures. Lawson added six rebounds.
Trevecca will host No. 14 Lambuth University (9-6, 1-2) at 6 p.m. Monday.
