2007-08 Trevecca Men's Basketball Schedule/Results

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Defeats Crichton, Reach TSAC Semifinals
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 19 Trevecca (23-8) defeated Crichton College (18-14) by the score of 86-75 on Thursday to advance to the TranSouth Tournament Semifinals. Trevecca, the tournament's #3 seed, will visit #2 seed Martin Methodist on Saturday at 7 p.m. Trevecca is now 6-3 all-time versus Crichton.
Trevecca's Brian Oduor surpassed the 1,000 point career scoring mark with a team high 22 points tonight. He joins teammates Collins Onyando and Josh Helton in the 1,000 point club. Trevecca's Marcos Salvi is just four points shy of the 1,000 point career scoring mark. Oduor, junior from Kenya, is the 34th Trojan to score more than 1,000 career points.
Crichton opened the game with a 5-2 lead before Trevecca got on track. Trevecca took a 7-5, but Crichton tied the game at seven with 14:45 to go in the first half. The Trojans used a 12-0 run to take a 19-7 lead with 9:30 on the clock. Trevecca managed to hold a comfortable margin until Crichton used a 12-4 run to cut the Trojan lead to just one point (34-33) with: 49 seconds remaining in the first half. Trevecca held a 36-33 lead at the break.
The Comets used their full court pressure to take a 41-38 lead with 17:52 to go in the game, but they would hold the lead for the last time with 15:45 (43-42) to go in the game. The Trojans rebuilt their lead and were up by 13 points (71-58) with 4:14 to go in the game. The Comets would get no closer than six points the rest of the way.  
Brian Oduor led the team in points (22) and rebounds (9) while hitting 7-of-10 from the field. Oduor leads the NAIA in field goal percentage. Matthew Elliot (19) and Josh Helton (17) also scored in double figures. Collins Onyando led the team with five assists and three blocks. Elliot led the team with three steals.
Crichton, the #6 seed in the tournament, had their season come to an end with the loss.
Trevecca will face NAIA No. 11 Martin Methodist (25-6) on Saturday in Pulaski, Tenn. at 7 p.m.
