LEBANON, Tenn. – NAIA No. 16 Trevecca (37-15) advance to Thursday’s play in the double-elimination NAIA Region XI Tournament at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. with a 14-5 win over #1 seed University of the Cumberlands. The Patriots are ranked No. 6 in the NAIA.
Trevecca center fielder Marty Parks was 4-5 with three doubles, two runs, and a RBI.

Trevecca scored four runs in the second inning and added three more in the third to take control of the game. Cumberlands scored a run in the fourth. Trevecca pulled ahead 9-0 with two runs in the sixth. In the bottom half of the sixth the Patriots scored a run and added two in the seventh. Trevecca scored three in the eighth and two in the ninth. UC added a run in the ninth for the final 14-5. TNU had 15 hits and two errors while UC had eight hits and two errors.
Trevecca will face the loser of the 4 p.m. game between Cumberland University and Campbellsville University at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
The Region XI tournament is being held at Ernest L. Stockton Field on the campus of Cumberland University.
Barrett Brown (4-0) started and got the win after going 6.2 innings. He allowed five hits, four runs, two earned runs, six walks, and struck out five. Drew Durossette (1.1 inning) and Steven Brown (1 inning) closed out the game.
Cody Heggie was 4-5 with a home run, a double, a run scored, and four RBI. Aaron Bree was 2-5 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI.
