With the wind blowing in, both teams weren’t able to scratch out any extra base hits. Trevecca pushed across a run in the third inning and held on to the lead till the seventh inning when Freed-Hardeman manufactured a run of their own. Trevecca pushed across two runs in the eighth inning.
TNU catcher Justin Mundy hit a one-out singled to right-center. Landry Walker came on to pinch run for Mundy. With two outs Walker stole second. Marty Parks was hit by a pitch and Chris Lowe reached on a walk to load the bases. Brian Dirheimer singled through the hole at 2nd base scoring Walker and Parks. Both teams had five hits and an error. Mundy (2-3) was the only Trojans with more than one hit.
Barrett Brown, who missed a month with a broken pitching hand, pitched seven stellar innings to give the Trojan pitching staff a boost. Brown gave up five hits, a run, three walks and struck out seven. Drew Durossette (5-1) came on to pitch the eighth and got the win. Durossette was perfect in his inning of work. Trevecca career and season saves leader Steven Brown (9) got the save by allowing a walk and one strike out in the ninth.
