BASEBALL: Fall @ Lambuth
JACKSON, Tenn. – NAIA No. 16 Trevecca (31-12, 15-3) lost a wild 11-9 contest at Lambuth University (29-18, 15-6) on Thursday.
The Eagles scored three in the first before the Trojans answered with three in the third. Lambuth put eight runs on the board in the fourth. TNU scored one in the fifth, but saw a five-run seventh inning fall short.
The Trojans out hit the Eagles 13-8, but had two errors while LU played error free baseball. Brian Dirheimer had a home run while Brett Thaler, Wade Angel, Ross Muirhead, Cody Heggie, and Marty Parks all doubled. Nick Shoup (8-2) took the loss for the Trojans. Parks and Lowe were 3-4. Parks had three RBI and a run scored. Lowe had a stolen base two runs scored and a RBI>
The teams will play a nine and seven inning game on Friday in Jackson.
The Trojans will compete in the conference tournament April 28-May 1 in Millington, Tenn. The team has also secured a bid to the NAIA Region XI Tournament at Cumberland University May 6-9, 2008.
