ATHENS, Tenn. – NAIA No. 10 Trevecca (14-3, 2-0) defeated No. 12 Tennessee Wesleyan (17-7) 12-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Trevecca's Ben Johnson (1-1) pitched a complete game shutout. Johnson allowed just two hits and a pair of walks over eight innings. He struck out four. The game was shortened to just eight innings due to the college baseball run rule. Trevecca scored the only runs they'd need with two in the top of the first. They added a six-run third, a run in the sixth and three in the eighth. Aaron Bree paced the Trojans with a 3-4 day with a home run, a double, four RBI, and three runs scored. Dylan Lynch was 1-4 with a 3-run home run. Nathan Wright was 3-5 with a 2-run homer and four RBI. Ross Muirhead was 1-4 with a solo home run.
Rob Sherwood (5-1) took the loss for the Bulldogs.
Trevecca and Martin Methodist (14-8, 4-1) have changed their schedule for the weekend series in Pulaski. The teams will play a single 9-inning game on Thursday night at 6 p.m. and a double-header starting at 5 p.m. on Friday.
