BASEBALL: Beat No. 19 Faulkner 9-0, at No. 12 Tenn. Wesleyan WednesdayNASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 10 Trevecca (13-3) defeated No. 19 Faulkner University (16-11) by the score of 9-0 on Monday.
Trevecca used three starters to pitch a complete game shutout of Faulkner. The Eagles managed just a pair of hits against Barrett Brown, Wesley Griggs and Nick Shoup. Each pitched three innings and combined for 10 strikeouts and not walks. Brown started and pitched three perfect innings with six strikeouts. Griggs (3-1) followed and picked up the win with three strikeouts and gave up two hits. Shoup closed and went three perfect innings with one strikeout.
Trevecca scored eight runs in the fifth inning and another run in the eighth. Aaron Bree was 2-for-5 with a double, a run and two RBI. Wade Angle was 1-for-3 with a run and two RBI. Marty Parks was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Trevecca had nine runs on 11 hits and no errors. Faulkner had a pair of errors.
Trevecca will visit No. 12 Tennessee Wesleyan (17-6) on Wednesday.
