BASEBALL: Defeat No. 10 Tenn. Wesleyan
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 17 Trevecca (3-1) defeated No. 10 Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs (4-2) by the score of 14-13 in come from behind fashion.
Tennessee Wesleyan jumped on top first with three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Trevecca answered with five in the bottom half of the inning, but the Bulldogs tied the game with five in the fifth. Each team added a run in the sixth before TWC scored one in the seventh and four in the eighth to take a 11-6 lead. Trevecca came back with an 8-run eighth that gave them the lead for good at 14-11. TWC did post a pair of runs on the board in the ninth, but Trevecca held on for the win.
Drew Durossette (1-0) got the win for Trevecca and Chris Sutherland picked up the save. Marty Parks was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and added a home run and four RBI. Aaron Bree was 3-for-5 with a run scored, a double and two RBI. Ross Muirhead was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and added a stolen base and a double. Cody Heggie, Dylan Lynch, and Brian Dirheimer all homered for Trevecca.
Trevecca will host #RV Indiana Tech (0-0) on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
