BASEBALL: Fall to Bethany
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – NAIA No. 15 Trevecca (22-11) fell to Bethany College (25-10) by the score of 10-7 on Tuesday at Jackson Field.
After two innings the Swedes led 2-1, but BC put another six runs on the board in the top of the third to take a commanding 8-1 lead. Trevecca scored two in their half of the inning and after Bethany scored another run in the fifth, Trevecca added four more in the bottom half of the fifth to make the score 9-7. The Swedes scored another run in the seventh to seal the scoring. BC had 15 hits and an error. Trevecca had 10 hits and an error. Ross Muirhead led the Trojans with a 2-3 performance that included a pair of doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Omar DeJesus was 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Ben Johnson (1-4) started and took the loss. Johnson was on a pitch count and only pitched an inning and a third. He allowed one hit, two runs and a pair of walks. He had one strike out.
Trevecca will return to conference play with a weekend series at Lyon College (23-10, 7-6) in Batesville, Ark.
